The Club prides itself on its warm and friendly atmosphere and
is in the fortunate position of having a growing membership.
We have both Men's and Women's sections although many competitions and games
are mixed. We always look forward to welcoming new people of any age or ability, including
Juniors.
We play lawn bowls from mid-April to the end of September
with friendly and league matches against other clubs in the area.
We also have a Club Night for members every Friday during the season as well as
social activities throughout the year.
We hold an "Open Morning Event" in April every year,
hoping to attract new people to the sport and thanks to widespread television
coverage it is no longer considered to be "Old Men's Marbles". This is
the ideal time for novice and experienced bowlers to try out their bowling
skills. Come along to meet our qualified coaches, play bowls, have
a chat and see how you get on. We will supply all the equipment. Please just
wear flat soled shoes (trainers are acceptable) and turn up - we looking forward to seeing you.
FRIDAY CLUB NIGHTS
Friday Club Night is for all members, new and old, for a roll up or perhaps just to watch the matches and have a drink, a chat and some food. Don't forget you can wear your own choice of casual clothes for these Club nights, whilst keeping it appropriate and with flat soled bowling shoes/trainers.
You should arrive by 17.45 with games commencing promptly at 18.00, which gives the opportunity for those still working, to be able to play. Games will finish around 19.45 as food (when supper is being provided) will be served at 20.00
Please check in with the Organiser of the Day when you arrive to register your attendance.
Parking
Please note there is limited parking at Horsell Bowling Club. You can park in the Horsell Village School playground at weekends throughout the bowling season and on Wednesday and Friday evenings during school holidays, which will be opened and signposted for weekend home matches. We are not allowed to park at the Village Hall, Crown Pub Car Park or Red Lion Car Park.
